Computer Fundamental Notes – Day 1
Welcome to Day 1 of our Free Computer Course at MDC Institute!
In this session, you will learn the basic concepts of computers, including their definition, history, generations, types, and components.
What is a Computer?
A computer is an advanced electronic machine designed to receive data (input), process it using a set of instructions called programs, store the processed data for future use, and generate meaningful results (output) for the user.
It works on the basic principle of Input → Processing → Output → Storage (IPOS).
Key Characteristics of a Computer:
- Speed: Performs millions of calculations in a second.
- Accuracy: Provides precise and error-free results (if data and instructions are correct).
- Storage: Can store vast amounts of data and retrieve it quickly.
- Automation: Works automatically after the program is executed.
- Versatility: Can perform different types of tasks (education, banking, design, research, etc.).
- Connectivity: Connects with other devices via the internet and networks.
